The area around De Haar golf club offers a beautiful estate with a castle around the corner, old trees, ponds and grassland, sometimes wet. Not much shade, unless you walk near the golf course. In the summer of 2023 I saw here, among other birds Cigüeña Blanca, Busardo ratonero, Espátula Común, Cormorán Grande, Pico Picapinos, Arrendajo Euroasiático, Jilguero Europeo and Martín Pescador Común. Furthermore, many species of ducks, pigeons, tits and herons. With a bit of luck you will see deer.

Nederlands: De omgeving van Golfclub De Haar biedt een prachtig landgoed met een kasteel om de hoek, oude bomen, plassen en grasland, soms nat. Weinig schaduw, tenzij je bij de golfbaan loopt. In de zomer van 2023 zag ik hier onder meer Cigüeña Blanca, Busardo ratonero, Espátula Común, Cormorán Grande, Pico Picapinos, Arrendajo Euroasiático, Jilguero Europeo en Martín Pescador Común. Verder veel soorten eenden, duiven, mezen en reigers. Met wat geluk zie je een ree.

You can park for a fee in 2 places. At De Haar Castle or restaurant De Geertjes Hoeve (also a nice place for lunch). There is a free parking lot on Parkweg south of the area. Click on a P on the map for directions to a parking lot. You can only explore the area on foot or by bike. The walk shown on the map is approximately 10 km.

Nederlands: Je kan op 2 plekken betaald parkeren. Bij kasteel De Haar of restaurant de Geertjes Hoeve (ook een leuke plek voor een lunch). Op de Parkweg ten zuiden van het gebied is een gratis parkeerplaats. Klik op een P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar een parkeerplaats. Je kunt het gebied verder alleen te voet of per fiets verkennen. De wandeling die is weergegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 10 km.
