The Krammer is a wide sea arm that is part of the Oosterschelde National Park. The water is in open connection with the sea, and is therefore salty and has a tide. The Plaat van Oude Tonge is an area where bird species that prefer sandbanks find their food and rest. Species that you can see there are Barnacla Carinegra, Zarapito Real, Chorlito Gris, Aguja Colipinta, Correlimos Gordo, Chorlitejo patinegro, Charrancito Común and Zarapito Trinador. Beach nesting birds such as Chorlitejo patinegro are having a very hard time due to human disturbance. So do not enter the sandbanks. A telescope is essential here to be able to observe the birds properly.

Nederlands: Het Krammer is een brede zeearm die onderdeel is van Nationaal Park Oosterschelde. Het water staat in open verbinding met de Oosterschelde via het Zijpe, Mastgat en Keeten, en is dus zout en heeft een getij. De Plaat van Oude Tonge ligt aan het Krammer en is een gebied waar vogelsoorten die bij de zandplaten horen hun voedsel en rust vinden. Soorten die je er kunt zien zijn Barnacla Carinegra, Zarapito Real en Chorlito Gris, maar ook Aguja Colipinta, Correlimos Gordo, Chorlitejo patinegro, Charrancito Común en Zarapito Trinador. Strandbroeders zoals Chorlitejo patinegro hebben het heel erg moeilijk door menselijke verstoring. Betreedt de zandplaten dus niet. Om de vogels goed te kunnen bekijken is een telescoop hier essentieel.

The Plaat van Oude Tonge is located on the south side of the Grevelingendam between the islands of Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland, east of the town of Bruinisse and west of the town of Oude Tonge. There is a large parking lot on the dam. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. The dam is also easily accessible by bike.

Nederlands: De Plaat van Oude Tonge ligt aan de zuidkant van de Grevelingendam tussen Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland, ten oosten van Bruinisse en ten westen van Oude Tonge. Er is een grote parkeerplaats aanwezig op de dam. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. De dam is ook prima met de fiets bereikbaar.
