Along the Brekkenpaad you can hear thousands of Silbón Europeo whistling on the lake in the winter months. On the north side of the area the are wet meadows that are rich in nutrients and attract many birds. The entire path is very rich in birds in every season, highly recommended! Among the birds you can see along the way are Ánsar careto, Ánsar piquicorto, Barnacla Cariblanca, Tarro Blanco, Cuchara Común, Cerceta Común, Serreta Chica, Ostrero Euroasiático, Avefría Europea, Aguja Colipinta, Aguja Colinegra, Combatiente, Agachadiza común, Avetoro Común, Espátula Común, Carricerín Común,Lavandera Boyera, Bisbita Pratense, Jilguero Europeo and Escribano Palustre.
