Het Groene Strand (Green Beach) is an area that consists of an old beach, valleys, thickets and the Oostvoornse lake. The old beach is a dune area where the river Maas flowed into the sea. This part of the nature reserve is overgrown with reeds where many songbirds and birds of prey reside. Partly due to its location on the lake Oostvoornse Meer, many species of birds can be seen on and along the Groene Strand. For example Barnacla Cariblanca, Cisne Cantor, Serreta Mediana. Zampullín Común, Charrán Común, Avoceta Común, Archibebe Común, Ruiseñor Común, Curruca Zarcerilla, Cetia Ruiseñor, Avefría Europea, Chorlitejo Grande, Jilguero Europeo, Cuco Común, Bigotudo, Ruiseñor Pechiazul, Rascón Europeo and Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental. There are three bird viewing screens and a bird hide along the Groene Strand. When following the red route you will come to the viewing spots. You look out over mudflats with grassland.

De strandhaak is een oud stukje strand en duingebied op de plek waar de Maas uitmondde in zee. Dit stukje van het natuurgebied is begroeid met riet waar veel zangvogels en roofvogels verblijven. Mede door de ligging aan het Oostvoornse Meer zijn er op en langs het Groene Strand vele soorten vogels te zien. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan Barnacla Cariblanca, Cisne Cantor, Serreta Mediana. Parking at Hotel Het Wapen van Marion in Oostvoorne. Down the stairs, follow the footpath and keep right at the fork. You will arrive at the observation point. In winter it can be quite wet, so boots or waterproof shoes are recommended.
