Descripción
The Kippenkade, literally translated "Chicken Quay", is a small and narrow track through a typical Dutch polder landscape and adjacent to the 's Gravenkoop lake, which is part of the larger Reeuwijkse Plassen area. The track is used by local residents to get to their holiday residences, although this isn't frequent. The track is surrounded by trees, small reedbeds and waterways.
The reedbeds provide a great oppurtinity to find Cetia Ruiseñor, Ruiseñor Pechiazul and Carricerín Común, besides more common species like Escribano Palustre and Carricero Común. The scattered trees and bushes are great for Zarcero Icterino, Curruca Zarcerilla and Curruca Zarcera. The gardens of the present residences are good for small flocks of Gorrión Molinero.
The surrounding polders are great for large flocks of geese in the winter months. Large numbers of Barnacla Cariblanca are present here and sometimes rare species like Barnacla cuelliroja and Ánsar de Ross can be spotted within these flocks. During the breeding season, the polders are great for typical waders like Archibebe Común, Aguja Colinegra and Combatiente. Large flocks of Lavandera Boyera can be present too. Foraging Garza Imperial can be seen next to the ditches. The track itself is a good spot for grass snakes.
The 's Gravenkoop lake is a great spot for Fumarel Común. They tend to hang around here just before flying to their breeding area in the polders. Large numbers can be seen foraging above the lake. Sometimes, species like Fumarel Aliblanco and Gaviota Enana can be spotted too.
