Kattenleger is an area where interesting birds are regularly observed. Despite the close proximity of the A15 motorway and the Betuwe railway line, the reed areas in particular offer a chance for nice species such as Avetoro Común and Bigotudo. You will almost certainly encounter Escribano Palustre, Jilguero Europeo, Carricero Común and Gallineta Común but also a chance of Rascón Europeo, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental and Zampullín Común.

Nederlands: Kattenleger is een gebied met rietvelden, weiland en een boomsingel langs Betuwe-spoorlijn waar regelmatig interessante vogelsoorten worden waargenomen. Ondanks nabije aanwezigheid van snelweg A15 en de Betuwe-spoorlijn bieden met name de rietgebieden kans op leuke soorten als Avetoro Común en Bigotudo. Vrijwel zeker kom je Escribano Palustre, Jilguero Europeo, Carricero Común en Gallineta Común tegen, maar ook kans op Rascón Europeo, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental en Zampullín Común.

Accesso
The area is only accessible by bicycle or on foot. You can park on the edge: from Bemmel, drive into the Plakse Uitweg (dead end) and park at the end. Click on the P in the map for directions.
