Hitland is a varied nature reserve located along the river Hollandsche IJssel. In the middle of Hitland-South is a bird resting area specially set up for birds. You walk along the lakes with high reed beds, between which elevated wooden paths have been constructed. In this area you can see reed birds like Carricero Común, Escribano Palustre, Carricerín Común, Escribano Palustre and Ruiseñor Pechiazul. In the rest of Hitland you can see various nice bird species as Zarcero Icterino, Curruca Capirotada, Carricero Políglota, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Barnacla canadiense grande, Faisán Vulgar, Garza Real, Garceta Grande, Cuco Común, Charrán Común and Martín Pescador Común.

Nederlands: Hitland is een gevarieerd natuurgebied gelegen langs de Hollandsche IJssel met water, bos, moeras en weilanden. Een groot gedeelte van het gebied bestaat uit water en dat trekt veel vogels. In het midden van Hitland-Zuid ligt een speciaal voor vogels ingericht vogelrustgebied. Je loopt daar langs de meertjes met hoge rietkragen waartussen verhoogde houten paden zijn aangelegd. In dit gebied kun je rietvogels zien als Carricero Común, Escribano Palustre, Carricerín Común, Escribano Palustre en Ruiseñor Pechiazul. In de rest van Hitland zijn diverse leuke vogelsoorten te zien als Zarcero Icterino, Curruca Capirotada, Carricero Políglota, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Barnacla canadiense grande, Faisán Vulgar, Garza Real, Garceta Grande, Cuco Común, Charrán Común en Martín Pescador Común.

There are several parking spaces. In Hitland-north on the Hitlandselaan and in Hitland-south at the golf course on the Blaardorpseweg. Click on a P in the map for directions to that parking spot. Hitland is a nice area for walking. The circular walk marked on the map is approximately 14 km long, but can easily be shortened to a shorter walk.

Nederlands: Er zijn diverse parkeerplaatsen. Onder meer in Hitland-noord aan de Hitlandselaan en in Hitland-zuid bij de golfbaan aan de Blaardorpseweg. Klik op een P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar die parkeerplek. Hitland is een fijn gebied om te wandelen. De rondwandeling die is aangegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 14 km lang, maar is gemakkelijk in te korten tot een kortere wandeling.
