The Donkere Bos is a large forest north of the village of West-Terschelling. The area is bisected by hiking and biking trails. Good area for species of the forest such as Pico Picapinos, Carbonero Garrapinos, Mosquitero Musical, Agateador Europeo, Jilguero Lúgano, Reyezuelo Sencillo, Papamoscas Gris and with a bit of luck Piquitureto Común, Pinzón Real or Chocha Perdiz. Thousands of thrushes can sometimes be seen during the spring and autumn migration.

Nederlands: Het Donkere Bos is een groot bosgebied ten noorden van het dorp West-Terschelling. Tijdens de voor- en najaarstrek zijn soms duizenden lijsters te zien. Het gebied wordt doorsneden door wandelpaden en fietspaden. Goed gebied voor soorten van het bos zoals Pico Picapinos, Carbonero Garrapinos, Mosquitero Musical, Agateador Europeo, Jilguero Lúgano, Reyezuelo Sencillo, Papamoscas Gris en met wat geluk Piquitureto Común, Pinzón Real of Chocha Perdiz.

This forest is easily accessible from West-Terschelling. There is a well-marked blue walking route through the area. This blue route of 7 km is also indicated on the map below. But there are many other trails and you can easily shorten or lengthen the route at will.

Nederlands: Het bos is gemakkelijk bereikbaar vanuit West-Terschelling. Er loopt een goed gemarkeerde blauwe wandelroute door het gebied. Deze blauwe route van 7 km is ook op de kaart hieronder aangegeven. Maar er zijn veel andere paden en je kunt de route gemakkelijk naar believen inkorten of langer maken.
