At Peizerweering the water of the Eelderdiep expands considerably. Due to the high water level you will find many marsh and reed birds here, such as Avetoro Común, Espátula Común, Bigotudo and sometimes even Polluela Pintoja. Bird watchers and photographers like to come here in the spring for Ruiseñor Pechiazul. In the winter, geese and ducks such as Cerceta Común and Silbón Europeo are present in large numbers. There is also a chance to see a Pigargo Europeo or Águila Pescadora.
The water of the Eelderdiep flows deep into the area, creating space for new vegetation. A weir with a fish ladder on the west side keeps the water level high. A bridge with a widening runs over the weir, so you can watch quietly without getting in the way of cyclists. On the east side there is a viewing screen, accessible via boardwalks. Both places are ideal for spotting water birds with binoculars or a telescope. Part of the route runs over paved cycle paths. The part over the dike is unpaved and can be quite marshy in wet weather.

Nederlands: De Peizerweering is het noordelijke deel van de Onlanden en ligt direct naast het dorp Eelderwolde. Hier dijt het Eelderdiep flink uit. Door het hoge waterpeil vind je hier veel moeras- en rietvogels, zoals Avetoro Común, Espátula Común, Bigotudo en soms zelfs een Polluela Pintoja. Vogelaars en fotografen komen er in het voorjaar graag voor de Ruiseñor Pechiazul. In de winter zijn ganzen en eenden zoals Cerceta Común en Silbón Europeo in grote getale aanwezig. Er is daarnaast ook kans om een Pigargo Europeo of Águila Pescadora te kunnen waarnemen.
Het water van het Eelderdiep stroomt diep het gebied in, waardoor er ruimte is voor nieuwe vegetatie. Een stuw met vistrap aan de westkant houdt het waterpeil hoog. Over de stuw loopt een brug met een verbreding, zodat je rustig kunt kijken zonder fietsers in de weg te zitten. Aan de oostkant staat een kijkwand, bereikbaar via plankenpaden. Beide plekken zijn ideaal om met een verrekijker of telescoop watervogels te spotten. Een deel van de route loopt over verharde fietspaden. Het stuk over de dijk is onverhard en kan bij nat weer behoorlijk drassig zijn.

Peizerweering is located directly next to the village of Eelderwolde. Parking is possible at the restaurant and shop De Onlanderij. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. Cyclists can park in front of the door. Cars can park behind the farm (indicated by signs). This is also allowed outside the opening hours of De Onlanderij. The route of approximately 5 km is best done on foot. Part of it runs on a paved cycle path, but the dike can be quite muddy.

Nederlands: Peizerweering ligt direct tegen het dorp Eelderwolde aan. Parkeren kan bij het eethuis en winkeltje De Onlanderij. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Fietsers kunnen voor de deur terecht. Automobilisten parkeren achter de boerderij (staat met borden aangegeven). Dit mag ook buiten de openingstijden van De Onlanderij. De route van ongeveer 5 km is het best te voet te doen. Een deel loopt over verhard fietspad, maar de dijk kan flink drassig zijn.
