Cortenoever is a floodplain located in an inner bend of a river IJssel meander and therefore consists of deposited sand ridges. There are scattered bushes of hawthorns and the land use consists of small-scale pasture, hayfields and fields that have never been intensively managed. This makes the area of great floristic value. If you are lucky, you can discover a Guión de Codornices here in May/June. In addition Cuco Común, Gorrión Molinero, Mochuelo Europeo, Carricero Políglota and Codorniz Común can be observed in the area.

Nederlands: Cortenoever is een uiterwaard van de IJssel met extensief agrarisch cultuurlandschap. Het gebied ligt in een binnenbocht van een IJssel-meander en bestaat daardoor uit afgezette zandruggen. Er zijn verspreide meidoorns te vinden en het landgebruik bestaat verder uit kleinschalig weiland, hooiland en akkertjes die nooit intensief beheerd zijn. Hierdoor is het gebied floristisch van grote waarde. Als je geluk hebt kun je er in mei/juni een Guión de Codornices ontdekken. Daarnaast zijn ook de Cuco Común, Gorrión Molinero, Mochuelo Europeo, Carricero Políglota en Codorniz Común hier te vinden.

Cortenoever is located east of the town of Brummen on the river IJssel. You can drive into the dead-end road 'Weg naar Het Ganzen Ei' by car or bike. If necessary, you can park carefully in the verge. You can also walk a small round (see map). Stay on the path at all times.

Nederlands: Cortenoever ligt ten oosten van Brummen aan de IJssel. Je kunt de doodlopende weg 'Weg naar Het Ganzen Ei' eventueel met de auto of fiets in rijden. Zo nodig kun je voorzichtig in de berm parkeren. Je kunt ook een klein rondje wandelen (zie kaart). Blijf ten alle tijden op het pad.
