Nature reserve Beleven was agricultural land only 10 years ago. After nature restoration, 2 ponds appeared that had been slammed 100 years ago. Now the ponds are surrounded by flowery grassland. Birds soon discovered the new habitat. Both waterfowl (Zampullín Cuellinegro, Cuchara Común) and meadow birds (Avefría Europea, Zarapito Real) can be seen here. A viewing cabin has been built to enjoy these birds in peace. In the surroundings the Escribano Cerillo sings his melancholic song. You can make a nice walk through a diverse landscape of water, meadow and forest.

Nederlands: Natuurgebied Beleven was 10 jaar geleden nog landbouwgrond. Na natuurherstel werden 2 vijvers terug gebracht die 100 jaar geleden waren dichtgegooid. Nu zijn de vijvers omgeven door bloemrijk grasland. Vogels ontdekten deze nieuwe plek al snel. Zowel watervogels (Zampullín Cuellinegro, Cuchara Común) als weidevogels (Avefría Europea, Zarapito Real) zijn hier te zien. Er is een kijkhut gebouwd om in alle rust van deze vogels te kunnen genieten. In de omgeving kun je ook de Escribano Cerillo horen zingen. Je kunt een mooie wandeling maken door een afwisselend landschap van water, weilanden en bos.

The Beleven is located just outside the village of Reusel. For parking see the P on the map (click on it to go there directly). The circular walk around the Beleven pond is about 2.5 km and passes a bird hide. If you only walk from the parking to the bird hide it is about 700 meter one way. See the map for details.

Nederlands: Het Beleven ligt net buiten het dorp Reusel. Voor parkeren zie de P op de kaart (klik erop om er direct heen te gaan). De rondwandeling rond het Beleven is ongeveer 2,5 km en komt langs een vogelkijkhut. Als je alleen vanaf de parkeerplaats naar de vogelkijkhut loopt is het ongeveer 700 meter enkele reis.
