The Balgzandpolder has a lookout point where you can observe resting wading birds very well. Especially during high tide many bird species rest here. See the link to the tide table at the bottom of this page to check the optimal visiting time. Among the birds you can encounter are Tarro Blanco, Barnacla Carinegra, Aguja Colipinta, Ostrero Euroasiático, Agachadiza común, Archibebe Oscuro, Archibebe Común, Avoceta Común, Ánade rabudo norteño and Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental.
