Descripción
Haff Réimech wetland is a 300 hectare old gravel pit area close to the Moselle River at the tri-border point of Luxembourg, Germany, and France. 100 hectares are classified as nature reserve. It is a Natura2000 zone and one of Luxembourgs two Ramsar-zones.
Haff Réimech is Luxembourgs premium birding area: out of the 330 species observed in Luxembourg, 260 have been seen here. It holds interesting breeding birds such as Avetorillo común, Carricero Tordal and Somormujo Lavanco as well as a lot of migratory birds. Winter visitors include Avetoro Común, Porrón Osculado and Serreta Chica. The many bird hides and viewing screens offer excellent photography opportunities.

The Haff Réimech Nature Reserve is located in the southeastern tip of Luxembourg near the village of Schengen at the tri-border point of Luxembourg, Germany, and France. The best option is to start at Biodiversum nature centre: Centre nature et forêts Biodiversum Camille Gira, 5, Bréicherwee, L-5441 Remerschen. Press a P on the map for directions. The walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km in total.

During wetter season, paths may be slippery. Some parts are difficult to reach by wheelchair. Guided tours organized by Biodiversum nature center.
