Descripción
Naturschutzgebiet Ruggeller Riet is a nature reserve of 90 hectares with wet meadows, ponds, hedges, woodland and moorland in the valley of the Alpine Rhine. The reserve is protected as a Ramsar site. The site supports an exceptional floral diversity and also attracts many birds. Among the birds you can observe are Milano Real, Milano Negro, Busardo ratonero, Cernícalo vulgar, Cigüeña Blanca, Garza Real, Garceta Grande, Pito Real, Pico Picapinos, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Alondra Común, Carricero Políglota, Cuco Común, Ruiseñor Común, Escribano Cerillo, Tarabilla Norteña, Escribano Palustre, Martín Pescador Común, Carricero Tordal, Gorrión Molinero and Tarabilla común. In summertime Guión de Codornices is heard. Cernícalo Patirrojo and Alcaudón Norteño pass by.

Naturschutzgebiet Ruggeller Riet is located near the village of Ruggell, in the north of Liechtenstein, near the border with Austria and Switzerland. Limited parking is available either on Fällagass by the small barn or on Noflerstrasse.
You can explore the area by walking or cycling the rural roads and paths. You are not allowed to leave the paths and roads and enter the fields. Some paths can be closed during the breeding season.
