Descripción
Just above the beautiful medieval village Arquà Petrarca, this area belongs to the Natural Park Colli Euganei. It is mostly dry meadows (locally called "vegri") with beautiful views on the hills themselves and the plain. The best seasons for birdwatching are spring and summer, with breeding Tórtola Europea, Escribano Soteño, Curruca Cabecinegra, Chotacabras Europeo, Abubilla común, Ruiseñor Común. Bisbita Campestre and Culebrera Europea are also possible summer visitors.
Also a good area for butterflies. It can be crowded (hikers, mountain bikers) during sunny weekends and unfortunately it is not uncommon to come across motorbike riders on the paths (illegally).
