Descripción
This birding spot is conveniently located in one of the most connected areas of the city centre of Turin. You will mainly see water birds in or around the river Po, like Garceta Común, cormorants, herons, Martín Pescador Común, Ánade azulón, but also redstarts, wagtails, and even Pato Mandarín.
There is a weir near the bridge Vittorio Emanuele I, where many birds aggregate all year round. It's very easy to walk from side to side using the bridges. It is possible to walk circularly around the bridges, from side to side of the river.
The north side (Murazzi) is made of concrete banks, where it's easy to get close to birds like Ánade azulón and egrets. The south side is greener and more isolated from the main roads. It allows the observation of more shy birds, like Martín Pescador Común, especially the Ignazio Michelotti park.
