Descripción

Hopeland is part of the Wexford Harbour and Slobs special protection area and in winter it holds nationally important numbers of Barnacla Carinegra and Tarro Blanco.

Low tide is best for the most variety of species, particularly waders, but high tide is also good for large roosting flocks and for ducks such as Porrón Osculado, Pato Havelda and Serreta Mediana. Esmerejón can be readily encountered in the area in winter, while Aguilucho pálido can also be observed on occasion.
