Descripción

Vestmannaeyjar (or Westman Islands) is an archipelago off the south coast of Iceland. The Westman Islands are home to approximately 2.5 million breeding pairs of seabirds. Among these, nearly half are Frailecillo Atlántico. More than 30 other species of birds nest in the cliffs and grassy ledges. The largest island, Heimaey, is a great place for watching seabirds and easy accessible, also by car. From the parking lot you can walk to the cliffs with breeding birds such as Arao Común, Alcatraz Atlántico, Frailecillo Atlántico, Gaviota Tridáctila and Fulmar Boreal and look out over the sea. Also a chance of orca, seals and various other birds such as Éider común, Gavión Hiperbóreo, Ostrero Euroasiático, Arao Aliblanco, Zarapito Trinador, Chorlitejo Grande, Lavandera Blanca and Bisbita Pratense.
