Nagy-tó means Big Lake. In this large wetland next to the village of Tiszaalpár there is a big heron nesting colony in the willows-jungle around the Big Lake. Plenty of Martinete Común, Garcilla Bueyera, Garceta Común, Garceta Grande, Garza Real, Garza Imperial, Espátula Común and Garcilla Cangrejera nest in the area. But there are many other interesting birds to see like Gaviota Cabecinegra, Somormujo Cuellirrojo, Serreta Chica, Pigargo Europeo and Bisbita Gorgirrojo.
