Descripción
Part of the IBA GR077 Acheron delta and gorge (39o 15' N 20o 30' E). The coastal delta includes low, scrub-dominated hills and brackish marshes, the remainig one fourth of it still surviving the decades of draining and turning marshes into arable land. Human activities include arable agriculture, livestock-farming, recreation and hunting.
Birds you can see in the area include Bisbita Campestre, Collalba Gris, Papamoscas Gris, Curruca Cabecinegra, Cetia Ruiseñor, Mosquitero Musical, Golondrina Dáurica, Zarcero Pálido, Zarcero Icterino, Carricero Tordal, Carricero Común, Cistícola Buitrón, Cogujada Común, Bigotudo, Pájaro-moscón Europeo, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Alcaudón Común, Gavilán Griego, Garcilla Cangrejera, Avetorillo común, Charrancito Común, Pagaza Piconegra, Archibebe Común, Vencejo Real, Vencejo Pálido, Porrón Pardo, etc.

The Acheron Delta lies some 30 minutes to the south of the Parga tourist resort, its entrance being the small resort of Ammoudia. Zoom in on the map and click on the "P" (parking) sign for driving directions.
