The diverse savanna and riparian ecosystems in the park host over 350 species of birds among which the Martial Eagle , White-headed Vulture and Palm-nut Vulture , Saddle-billed Stork, herons, egrets, rollers, Violet Turaco , various shrikes and the Red-throated Bee-eater.

Accesso

Reaching Mole National Park requires some travel, the nearest airstrip is in Tamale (~150Km from the park) and will take approx. 3 hours drive. It is therefore advisable to stay overnight for at least one night (with the large number of species one can stay for days and see new species everyday). The main lodge is called Zaina lodge, situated on a hill overlooking a large waterhole with 2 excellent hides for observing wildlife. The lodge very knowledgeable guides who can take you on a safari on foor, car or canooing over the river.
