Descripción
The salt marshes and the sandbank at Westerheversand represent very diverse habitats. Many waders such as the Correlimos Común, Ostrero Euroasiático, Archibebe Común can be observed. On the sandbank, a particularly large number of gulls and other resting birds can be seen. Notable are the Aguja Colipinta, Chorlitejo Grande, Chorlitejo patinegro, Charrán Patinegro, Charrancito Común, Correlimos Gordo, Pigargo Europeo and others.
The warft with lighthouse is a fixed point for migratory birds during migration, so that some songbirds can also be observed here.
