The Weingartener Moor is an interesting place to visit and can host a good variety of bird species. The varying levels of water throughout the year adds a certain dynamic and an element of surprise. When there are open areas of water, there are good numbers of geese and ducks present. Ánsar común, Barnacla canadiense grande, Ánade azulón, Ánade friso, Porrón Europeo, Porrón Moñudo, Cerceta Común, Focha Común and Zampullín Común are all regularly seen here.
Receding water levels and muddy fringes can attract birds such as Agachadiza común and Andarríos Grande. In August 2023, a juvenile Vuelvepiedras Común was even observed here! The surrounding woodland is home to a good number of species and is a good place to look for Zorzal Charlo, Pico Mediano and Pico Menor. If you are lucky, you may see a Alcotán Europeo hunting dragonflies in summer.

Accesso
The Weingartener Moor is located south of the village of Weingarten. The core area and bird hide of can only be accessed by a narrow boardwalk. There are various paths that lead through the surrounding woodland. There is a parking bay just off the B3 road (be careful when crossing!). Click on the P in the map for directions to the parkig.
