Descripción
In the large open area of the Vehnemoor typical marsh breeders such as Bisbita Pratense, Ruiseñor Pechiazul, Escribano Palustre, Grulla Común, Agachadiza común, Zarapito Real, Archibebe Común and Chorlitejo Chico are common in spring and summer. There is also a small colony of Gaviota Reidora and single pairs Gaviota Cana. The forested area in the central part is a breeding place for Chotacabras Europeo, Mosquitero Musical and Bisbita Arbóreo.
On spring migration parts that just have been recently renaturalised are also good spots for Waders. Most numerous species are Archibebe Claro, Andarríos Grande, Andarríos Bastardo, Chorlitejo Grande and Correlimos de Temminck. From late April to August (best time is first decade of May) other Wader species such as Correlimos Común, Correlimos Tridáctilo, Vuelvepiedras Común, Correlimos Zarapitín and Correlimos Menudo could be watched here.
In winter the area is used as a roosting site for huge numbers of Greater White-Fronted Geese & Bean Geese, Common Cranes and swans.
See the full list of species that have been recorded in the Vehnemoor below (including historic records).

Accesso
There are four ways to access the moor (see map). One road through the area could be used by car, others are forbidden to use and blocked with barriers. But those can be explored on foot.
