Descripción
Usedomer Strand is located near Peenemünde. From the beach you can easily observe migrating and resting birds. In winter, the Baltic Sea is full of sea ducks (like Negrón común, Pato Havelda, Negrón especulado, Porrón Bastardo) divers (like Somormujo Lavanco, , Somormujo Cuellirrojo) and swans. Loons (Colimbo Chico, Colimbo Ártico) migrate across the Baltic Sea.
In spring, groups of songbirds fly parallel to the dune forest to their breeding areas. From August onwards, individual Limikols (such as Correlimos Tridáctilo, Correlimos Común, Correlimos Gordo, Ostrero Euroasiático) are on the beach and terns are on the water. From the smallest (Charrancito Común) to the largest (Pagaza Piquirroja) everything is possible. In late autumn the geese (Ánsar careto, Barnacla Cariblanca, Ánsar Campestre de la Tundra) fly to their resting areas. Pigargo Europeo is often observed in this area.
