Descripción
Since the renaturation was completed in 2002, the Seeanger has developed into an important area, especially during migration mainly for waders and ducks. A five hectar pond is surrounded by wet meadows, reeds and a few scattered bushes making this a diverse site attractive to a wide selection of species. Spring migration is best with Silbón Europeo, Cuchara Común, Ánade rabudo norteño, Cerceta Común, Cerceta Carretona and Ánade friso all occurring regularly in March and April. 32 wader species have been observed here with Combatiente, Archibebe Oscuro, Andarríos Grande, Andarríos Bastardo and Agachadiza común being regular migrants. However numbers of birds are dependant upon water levels.
The Seeanger is used as a breeding site by species like Avefría Europea, Ánade friso (not every year), Rascón Europeo, Ruiseñor Pechiazul or Buscarla Unicolor. In winter, the area is usually quiet with only few birds around though Bigotudo turned up regularly in the last few years.
