Descripción
Only 20 kilometers south of Berlin's outskirts lies the nature park Nuthe-Nieplitz. The humid lowlands of the rivers Nuthe and Nieplitz, forests, farmland, lakes and small villages are rich in birds. The meadows, pastures and flood plains in the lowlands of the watercourse Pfefferfließ and the Stangenhagener Polder are visited by many species of birds as rest and food areas. In autumn and spring many Grulla Común as well as geese can be seen. Milano Negro and Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental are also looking for food here. The Observation Tower at lake Schwanensee also allows for great views on the Gänselake and the Pfefferfließ. More then 150 different birdspecies are allready seen from the tower. In spring and autumn migratory birds rest, in the summer waterfowl raise their young and the Águila Pescadora catches fish. Large groups of geese are resident in the winter season. Grulla Común and egrets can be seen year-round. An information panel in the tower shows the occurring bird species. Nice birds that also can bee seen are Pigargo Europeo, Alcotán Europeo, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Milano Real and Oropéndola Europea.
