Descripción
The Wadden Sea as National Park is known internationally as one of the most important resting habitats for birds, especially waders, on migration. The Jadebusen is a big bay, where the German Wadden Sea reaches one of its southernmost extension. The bay character gives the Jadebusen some features, that cannot be found at the open coastline. The Jadebusen-bay is a bit sheltered from big waves, what leads to the formation of very wide saltmarsh and saltmarsh meadows in front of the dike. this area is one of those really wide saltmarshes. Meadow breeding birds like the Archibebe Común, Agachadiza común and the Ostrero Euroasiático, but also many Bisbita Pratense can be observed during the breeding time. During Winter Pardillo Piquigualdo, Escribano Nival, Bisbita Costero or geese like Barnacla Cariblanca and Barnacla Carinegra can be observed. A nice boardwalk allows the access to the saltmarsh, otherwise the view from the dike also gives a good overview.

Consider the tide, as the birds spread over the whole Jadebusen during low tide, but are pushed towards the coastline during high tide. So high tide is best! This area is part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park.
