Descripción
The Ratzener Teiche are a former lignite mining site near the village of Lohsa. The area has been transformed into a series of fish ponds with reed beds, creating a rich wetland for various bird species. Among the birds you can encounter are Avetoro Común, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Carricero Tordal, Pájaro-moscón Europeo, Escribano Palustre, Escribano Cerillo, Ruiseñor Común, Charrán Común, Cuco Común and Somormujo Lavanco.

Accesso
The Ratzener Teiche are located directly east of the village of Lohsa in Saxony. You can park in the village and explore the area from there on foot. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
NOTE: Unfortunately access is now severely restricted, with the paths between the ponds closed off. Some of the perimeter is accessible, but not a complete circuit.
