The Polenztal is located within the national Park Sächsische Schweiz. The Polenz is a small river stream through an almost natural valley. In spring it is famous for the number of flowering spring snowflake ("Märzenbecher"). The river and the valley are the most beautiful and natural habitat for Mirlo-acuático Europeo and Lavandera Cascadeña. the forest inhabits the typical forest bird species, like Picamaderos Negro and Reyezuelo Sencillo.

The Polenztal is located directly southwest of the village of Hohnstein. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Walking is the only way possible to explore the Polenz-Valley. Please consider local hiking guides and respect the rules of the national park. The suggested circular walking route on the map is about 9 km long.
