Descripción
The nature reserve of Rümlandteich und Methorstteich is a beautiful area to observe water and forest bird species. You can make larger and smaller walks via hiking trails. Both ponds are drained temporarily (especially in autumn/winter) and then offer particularly interesting observation opportunities (wading birds, wintering Bisbita Alpino). Pigargo Europeo breed here and can be observed regularly. Avetoro Común occasionally call in the reed belt of the Rümlandteich. In the adjacent forest areas, all species of woodpecker are found ( Picamaderos Negro, Pito Real, Pico Picapinos, Pico Mediano and Pico Menor), as well as Búho Real, Alcotán Europeo, Abejero Europeo, Papamoscas Cerrojillo and, in some years, Papamoscas Papirrojo. In the winter months, many Cisne Cantor often stay here during the day. Both bodies of water are also home to 200 Cisne Cantor and Cisne Chico and up to 800 Ánsar careto and Ánsar Campestre de la Tundra. In the adjacent grassland you can observe Alcaudón Norteño, Aguilucho pálido and many geese in winter.
