Neuer und Alter See

The "Alter See" is the only breeding place for Zampullín Cuellinegro in Lower Franconia. Both small lakes have furthermore large reed zones.

Descripción

Both lakes are worth a visit during breeding season. Apart from the already mentioned Zampullín Cuellinegro patient scanning of the reeds might produce Avetorillo común, Garza Imperial, Carricero Tordal, Ruiseñor Pechiazul and Buscarla Unicolor.

Accesso

The site is located between Gerolzhofen and Mönchstockheim. A car park lies immediately north of the Neuer See. You can explore the area best by foot or by bicycle. On both lakes you find a gap in the reed belt on their western shore, which allow a sufficient overview.
