Descripción
The gravel pond north of Negenborn is an active sand and gravel mining operation using suction dredging. The water surface, which is now around 230 hectares in size, is home to hundreds of water birds such as Ánsar común, Ganso del Nilo, Ánsar indio, Ánade azulón, Cisne Vulgar, Cormorán Grande, Garza Real and Garceta Grande, particularly in the winter months. One can also spot Focha Común, Chorlitejo Chico, Somormujo Lavanco, Porrón Moñudo, Archibebe Claro and Serreta Grande.

Accesso
Access is from the Negenborn - Abbensen road on the northern edge of Negenborn. There is a small car park there (marked on the map, press P for directions). You can walk or cycle along the north-west and north sides of the lake on a dirt road to the two viewing points. The rest of the lake is inaccessible because of the active mining.
