Nice combination of lake, reedbeds and woodlands. There is a large population of Carricero Tordal , and a colony of Fumarel Común at Die Banke. In winter, when other sites in Berlin can be a bit boring, one can find interesting waterfowl here, including Somormujo Cuellirrojo, Zampullín Cuellirrojo, Porrón Osculado, Negrón especulado and various loons. In the winter 2020 the lake was visited by one of the rarest loons, the Colimbo de Adams (gavia adamsii). The woodlands south of the lake are home to breeding Papamoscas Papirrojo.
