The Mittlere Horloffaue is an important marsh and wetland area. Various breeding, migratory, resting and winter birds are regularly present in the Mittlere Horloffaue. As breeding birds you can find here Cigüeña Blanca, Avefría Europea, Ruiseñor Pechiazul and Escribano Triguero. On migration you can see Grulla Común and different spieces of waterbird. As winter guests you can see Ánsar careto and Ánsar Campestre.
