Kiesteiche Nordstemmen Nord is a complex of gravel pits west of Rössing. Breedings birds include Cetia Ruiseñor and Carricero Tordal. More important from October to February for wintering waterbirds. Gulls and Ánsar común roost in July and August. Birds you can observe in the area include Ánsar careto, Ánsar Campestre, Ánade friso, Ánade azulón, Cerceta Común, Porrón Moñudo, Serreta Grande, Serreta Mediana, Zampullín Común, Somormujo Lavanco, Focha Común, Escribano Palustre, Gaviota Reidora, Gaviota Cana, Gaviota Patiamarilla, Gaviota argéntea europea, and Gaviota del Caspio.
