Descripción
Originally created by monks, the upper and lower Kelzer Teich continue to be used for fish farming. All other bodies of water were created for nature conservation reasons. Carricero Común, Zampullín Común and Rascón Europeo breed in the extensive reed beds. Alcotán Europeo and Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental hunt here and every year at migration time Águila Pescadora can be observed. Occasionally, rarities such as Avetoro Común, Somormujo Cuellirrojo or Garza Imperial are also reported. In winter the water from the ponds is drained.
