Descripción
Jröne Meerke (little green sea) is a small park with a pond at the north-western edge of the city of Neuss. It contains the only Western European colony of Ánsar nival. Depending on the season there are also numerous other waterfowl, such as Porrón Moñudo, Ánade azulón, Ánade friso, Zampullín Común, Cormorán Grande, Gallineta Común or Focha Común. There are many trees and a small forest in the park that host numerous songbirds, including Zorzal Común, Zorzal Charlo, Trepador Azul, Pinzón Vulgar, Jilguero Europeo, Verderón Común, Petirrojo Europeo, Herrerillo Común, Carbonero Común and many more. If you want to see the Ánsar nival, you should come in the early morning or before sunset as the geese often go out to the surrounding fields for feeding.
