Descripción
The Gmünder Au nature reserve is an old river arm of the Danube. At this point the Wiesent flows into the old Danube arm and together the two rivers form a beautiful meadow landscape. Wide reed belts, ponds and wet meadows create a resting, breeding and wintering area for many bird species. The area is flooded once or several times a year. Among the birds you can see here are Zarapito Real, Cuco Común, Escribano Palustre, Garza Imperial, Martinete Común, Oropéndola Europea, Carricerín Común and Buscarla Unicolor. The area can also be very good for Abejaruco Europeo.
