Feuchtgebiet Gretesch is a wetland that is home to many different species of birds throughout the year. Especially waterfowl such as Ánade friso, Cerceta Común, Focha Común or Zampullín Común. During migration you can also see wading birds such as Agachadiza común or Andarríos Grande. Depending on the season, songbirds such as Tarabilla común and Lavandera Cascadeña as well as birds of prey such as Busardo ratonero, Cernícalo vulgar or Mochuelo Europeo can be found in the neighboring meadows.

By car, take the A33 motorway and take exit 7 “Lüstringen”. Drive east on Mindener Straße and after about 1 km turn left onto “Burg Gretesch” street. After another 750 m there is a publicly accessible parking lot on the right. The nearest bus stop is “Osnabrück Schoeller”. The best way to explore the area is on foot from the car park or bus stop. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 1,5 km.
