Descripción
Fermasee and the floodplain of Altrhein Neuburgweier attract many birds. Parts of the lake are used by anglers and for bathing in summer. However, in winter the birds take the centre stage. There are often good numbers of Porrón Moñudo, Porrón Europeo, Ánade friso, Ánade azulón and Cisne Vulgar. If you are lucky, you can also see Porrón Osculado, Pato Colorado and Serreta Chica here. Over the years, a number of rarer sea ducks and divers have been observed here, including Negrón especulado, Serreta Mediana, Zampullín Cuellirrojo and Colimbo Chico.
The orchards and fields to the east of the lake are a good place to look out for Zorzal Real, Zorzal Alirrojo, Graja and Grajilla Occidental.
