Descripción
The wet meadows of Elzwiesen are irrigated in March, August and November. End of March/ start of April and August are the best times to watch migrating birds on the flooded meadows. Common migrating spiecies are Andarríos Bastardo , Combatiente , Archibebe Claro , Gaviota Reidora and Cerceta Carretona. Also rarer species like Espátula Común , Zarapito Trinador and Aguja Colinegra can sometimes be found on the irrigated areas.
Breeding birds are Zarapito Real , Avefría Europea , Ruiseñor Común and Alcaudón Dorsirrojo. Many Garceta Grande , Garza Real and Cigüeña Blanca can be observed feeding in the area. The meadows are irrigated in steps from south to north. So most times only one part of the area is flooded. Note that the area has limited access from March to June.
