The Altes Feld (Old Field) near Dainrode was the largest Hessian resting place for Avefría Europea in the 1970s with daily maximums (resting population) of around 14,000. Up to 600 Chorlito Dorado Europeo. Rare Chorlito Carambolo. Large numbers of raptors, sometimes over 50 Milano Real and 100 Busardo ratonero. The Busardo Calzado is an occasional migrant and winter guest. In the cold winter of 86/87 up to 20 individuals. Aguilucho pálido, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Esmerejón and Escribano Nival regularly. Sometimes Grulla Común rest, often thousands of them migrating. Maximum numbers: Alondra Común 10,000, Zorzal Real 10,000, Zorzal Alirrojo 6,000, Estornino Pinto 200,000, Bisbita Pratense 2,000.

Altes Feld located near the village of Dainrode. The area is crossed by the B 253 and is very easy to reach. Driving on dirt roads is forbidden, but is probably never checked.
