At the river Ahr are breeding Chorlitejo Chico and Martín Pescador Común. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Mochuelo Europeo (10 territories in 2020). Alcaudón Dorsirrojo and Buscarla Pintoja are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Ruiseñor Común , Oropéndola Europea and Pico Mediano. You can also see Milano Negro and Alcotán Europeo during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Carricero Común and Carricero Políglota (also common next to the Ahr). Zarcero Políglota and Zarcero Icterino can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Águila Pescadora and Andarríos Grande. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Mirlo-acuático Europeo.

There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
