Descripción
Lake Jandari is a lake located partly in Georgia and Azerbaijan. The lake consists of shallow, silted areas and deeper water. The water level in the lake fluctuates throughout the year, creating interesting foraging areas for migrating waterfowl such as ducks and wading birds. Many migratory birds are present during spring and autumn, and various bird species winter on the lake.
Species present in spring and autumn include: Garcilla Cangrejera, Andarríos Bastardo, Cormorán Pigmeo, Gaviota Armenia, Cerceta Carretona, Estornino Rosado, Correlimos Zarapitín and Lavandera Cetrina. In the reed collars you can find Carricero Tordal and Avetorillo común. The lake is home to a colony of Fumarel Cariblanco and some pairs of Charrancito Común breed there. More rare species (for this country) that may be occasionally present are Pelícano Ceñudo, Carricerín Real and Calamón Cabecigrís. Winter is good for several species of ducks.
