Étang Turlet is located at the southern exit of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. The lake has mainly open shallow water with some scarce reedbeds and wet woodlands. On the northern bank of the lake is a bird hide. Among the bird you can observe are Ánade friso, Silbón Europeo, Ánade rabudo norteño, Pato Colorado, Porrón Moñudo, Porrón Europeo, Cerceta Común, Cerceta Carretona, Cisne Vulgar, Garza Imperial, Cigüeña Blanca, Aguilucho Lagunero Occidental, Fumarel Cariblanco, Somormujo Lavanco, Zampullín Común and Zampullín Cuellinegro.

Étang Turlet is located south of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. You can park along the road close to the lake. Click on the P in the map for directions. From parking spot it is just a 100 m walk to the bird hide.
