Descripción
If you don't want to drive deep into the mountains, but still want to observe a few of the typical species, you can take a hike from the town of Verdun. The Ermitage de St-Pierre hike is comparatively easy for the mountains. Chova Piquirroja can be seen foraging on the slopes. Birds of prey that are easy to spot include Milano Real, Culebrera Europea, Buitre Leonado, Alimoche Común and Halcón Peregrino. Only occasionally Quebrantahuesos and Águila Real can be seen flying over, but spots deeper in the mountains allow better observations of these species. Iberian Pito Real (Picus sharpei) can be heard calling.
