The strategic location of Château Peyrelade is perfect to watch birds of prey at eye level. The rock walls on the other side of the Tarn provide space for nesting Buitre Leonado. You also have a chance to observe Buitre Negro, Vencejo Real, Milano Real and Azor Común. The castle is open to the public from 10 a.m., but the viewpoints are also accessible outside opening hours to avoid the crowds.
There is a car park next to the castle, but a walk to the top from Camping Le Peyrelade is also a nice option. The walking trail takes you past fruit trees and vineyards and along paths through mixed forest where there is a chance of Papamoscas Cerrojillo, Herrerillo Capuchino, Trepador Azul, Agateador Europeo, Lavandera Blanca, Zorzal Común, Mosquitero Común, Carbonero Palustre, Pito Real, Carbonero Común and Reyezuelo Listado. Along the banks of the Tarn you will find Mirlo-acuático Europeo, Lavandera Cascadeña and the chance of low-flying Buitre Leonado.

Parking is available next to Château Peyrelade (free), but if you prefer a walk from the campsite you can also park there and then walk to the top via the forest track. Click on a P in the map for directions. There are no special observation platforms at the castle, but along the paths around the castle there are plenty of opportunities to position a telescope.
