During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of Porrón Europeo and Porrón Moñudo and several hundreds of Focha Común . A rarity such as the Negrón especulado or Porrón Bastardo is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for Agachadiza común and Agachadiza Chica.
In summer typical breeders include Charrán Común and Somormujo Lavanco on the lake, Alcaudón Dorsirrojo in the bushes or Bisbita Pratense in the grassland.
In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly Andarríos Bastardo or for a Cigüeña Negra stopover. In spring when water level is higher, Fumarel Común , Fumarel Cariblanco or Gaviota Enana are regularly seen foraging over water.
