Uutela park has different forest types, marshes, rocks and shorelines within it. There's a lot of variety in bird species and it's a nice place to visit all year round. In spring and early summer it's possible to see and hear all kinds of singing birds: Zarcero Icterino , Mosquitero Común , Mosquitero Musical , Cuco Común , Carricero de Blyth , Bisbita Arbóreo , Curruca Zarcera , Curruca Zarcerilla , Mosquitero Silbador, Petirrojo Europeo , Pinzón Vulgar, Papamoscas Cerrojillo , Papamoscas Gris , Papamoscas Papirrojo , Carbonero Común , Herrerillo Común , Carbonero Garrapinos , Bisbita Pratense , Curruca Capirotada. You can spot migrating species as well. Thanks to the close proximity of the sea it's possible to spot a wide variety of both local and migrating sea birds by the shore too: Cisne Cantor , Cisne Vulgar ,Serreta Grande , Serreta Mediana ,Porrón Moñudo , Porrón Osculado , Pato Havelda ,Éider común , Ánade azulón , Andarríos Chico , Barnacla Cariblanca , Barnacla canadiense grande and Garza Real.

The Uutela communal gardens located at the heart of the park is also a great spot for seeing birds. (Check out the gardens' own page on Birdingplaces for more details!) There are three active bird feeding spots in the park during winter time. Some have bird food all year round but they're especially nice in winter. The more common Carbonero Común , Herrerillo Común , Carbonero Garrapinos , Gorrión Común and Gorrión Molinero are almost always present but if you're lucky you might spot Herrerillo Capuchino , Carbonero Montano and Reyezuelo Sencillo on them too. Trepador Azul has been seen visiting one of the feeding spots during the summer too.

Reyezuelo Sencillo is a common even if sometimes hard to see species in the park all around the year. Mirlo Común can also be seen almost all year round. During the autumn migration seasons it's also possible to see Ampelis Europeo too.

Accesso

There are two parking places in the area. The park is best explored by walking. It is also possible to cycle in the forest. The main paths are wide and maintained and are therefore suitable for wheelchair users as well. Please be mindful of where you walk and cycle, though, as there are nature reserve areas that should be protected.
